Welcome to the Norwich Ramblers' website

Our Ramblers' group is one of the many Ramblers groups in the country, part of the National Ramblers charity. As a member of Ramblers, you can walk with any group in the country. You may like to try up to three walks with us (or any other group) before deciding if you would like to join the Ramblers organisation. You choose which group you would like to be affiliated with, and you can change groups if needed. There are currently nine groups in the Norfolk Area.

To join Ramblers, or for more information, please visit the following link: https://www.ramblers.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-member.aspx

The Norwich Group welcomes new members of all ages. We have a full walk programme (see the tab at the top of the page) throughout the year led by our experienced leaders. On Sundays, we walk between 10 and 13 miles. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month we walk up to 11 miles. We also have shorter, more leisurely walks of 8 miles on the 1st Saturday of the month between November and March, and on 1st and 3rd Saturday between April and October.

The majority of our walks are dog friendly, but please ask the leader just in case. The walks are also circular with rare exceptions. We are happy to offer lifts if at all possible.

In addition to our local walks, mainly in the Norfolk area, our group also organises walking trips away (see the tab at the top of the page): we have an annual one-week trip to the Lake District in June, offering 2 different grade walks, and another week in September, again with 2 grades, exploring other areas. Two long weekends away per year have also proved popular.

Norwich Ramblers has recently started a social events programme, which has included a table football tournament and bar billiards. This well attended programme will continue.

The Norwich Ramblers has a Facebook group which is open only to Ramblers members. You can request to join on this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/333667117549601)

Our group is committed to the maintenance and repair of footpaths and associated infrastructure and parties of volunteers under trained leadership operate a programme of works.

Our walks are advertised on the web and smartphone application “Meetup” under Norwich Ramblers (https://www.meetup.com/norwich-ramblers/), where you can interact with other walkers attending the walks.

Remember to bring a packed lunch and drinks and appropriate clothing and footwear for walking in the countryside, including for wet weather.

Please ring the walk leader if you have any questions about the walks.
