Car sharing - At Norwich Ramblers we are encouraging car sharing to the start of our walks. This will reduce pressure on leaders to find large enough car parks, as well as having obvious cost and environmental benefits. We will set up a WhatsApp group for those Ramblers' members willing to take part in car-pooling to give & receive lifts. If you do not have your own transport, you can discuss sharing fuel & parking costs with the driver as your contribution. Sunday 10:00am 20 July 2025 | 13.1 miles | SHERINGHAM BOATING LAKE, The walk follows a path along the cliff tops between Sheringham and Weybourne following which there is a brief stretch along the shingle. The route then turns in land and passes through a mix of fields, country lanes and heathland. Please note that the route follows the coast road for a few minutes leading into Salthouse (there is a narrow path on a raised bank close to the road). Sunday 09:00am 27 July 2025 | 11 miles | MANNINGTREE, Starting at Norwich station and getting the train to Manningtree in Essex. We will be walking along the River Stour to Flatford and onto Dedham. We will be seeing Flatford Mill and Willy Lotts Cottage made famous by John Constable in his painting The Hay Wain. Meet in Norwich railway station atrium at 0845 for the 0900 train. Wednesday 10:00am 30 July 2025 | 9.7 miles | ERPINGHAM 5 CHURCHES, Park & meet at St Mary's Church in Erpingham, Church Rd, off Eagle Rd. W3W pavement.vans.hilltop. Circular walk along a mixture of bridleways & quiet country lanes passing 5 churches. Break at Calthorpe church & lunch at Aldborough green (pub for additional refreshments). Sunday 09:00am 10 August 2025 | 10.5 miles | ELY, We will be getting the train from Norwich station to Ely. This walk will be very similar to last years Ely walk. Meeting at Norwich station at 0845 to catch the 0903 train. The best value train ticket at the moment is the Off-Peak Day Return which costs £22.90 each. To start with we will head south along the Ouse Valley Way and then across to Little Thetford . Then we head North towards Ely and past the Cathedral and the Oliver Cromwell museum. Saturday 10:00am 16 August 2025 | 6 miles | NORWICH, A social safari walk around Norwich City centre spotting many of the larger sculptures on the Go Go Safari trail. We will be starting the walk outside the Forum entrance, leaving promptly at 10am. Where possible we will be stopping briefly at each Sculpture. A map of the trail is sold inside the Forum, they cost £1 each. Proceeds of map sales goes to the Break charity. Watering hole of choice after the walk is Marzano at the Forum.
